relocate
heritage walls

We frequently receive requests to relocate heritage walls, reconstructing them with the original stone at new locations to preserve their authentic appearance. While modern construction methods and OH&S standards may occasionally necessitate adjustments, we have successfully managed these relocations, always with approval from Heritage Advisors. If you face a similar challenge, our expertise ensures seamless advising, facilitation, and completion of such projects.

Relocating heritage walls to a different site involves carefully lifting, transporting, and stockpiling the stone to prepare it for reconstruction. It's essential to handle the stone with care to prevent damage and to protect the lichen that may have thrived on the surfaces for generations.

In the past five years, we have developed two proprietary methods for uplifting, storing and preserving stone. The most effective approach uses machinery and trucks, paired with specialised operator training. We provide both training and lift supervision—known as "spotting"—to ensure minimal damage. Our team can guide your operators, supervise the process, and uphold compliance with heritage and government regulations, preserving the integrity of the dry stone structure.
